Positivo Informatica SA, Brazil’s biggest computer maker, rose the most in nine months on speculation Lenovo Group Ltd. may acquire the company.
Positivo jumped 6.4 percent, the most since April 7, to 10.50 reais at the close of Sao Paulo trading at 3 p.m. New York time.
IstoE Dinheiro magazine reported on its website Jan. 14 that Lenovo wants to buy a company in Brazil to accelerate its expansion in the South American country, citing President Rory Read. Positivo said in 2008 that it had rejected a buyout offer from Lenovo.
