Telefonica del Peru, Telefonica’s branch in Peru, announced that they will now use the Movistar name and brand for all of their products offered in the country. This includes all of their fixed, mobile, internet, and television services. The company stated their new branding strategy will help streamline and improve customer service and communication. Telefonica also wanted to communicate to their clientel that there will be no changes to current contracts, plans or rates. The change took place on January 22, 2011.
