Google Inc.’s (GOOG) AdMob is on a tear. The mobile ad network receives more than 2 billion ad requests daily, marking a fourfold increase from a year ago.
More than 50,000 publishers are now working with the AdMob network and hundreds of mobile publishers are earning more than $100,000 a month from AdMob ads, according to Jason Spero, director of mobile at Google.
He added that nine countries generated more than one billion monthly ad request in December 2010, which is up markedly from one country a year ago.
In a blog post detailing some recent statistics from AdMob, Spero also highlighted a recent campaign with Volvo that led to a 240% increase in brand favorability, 88% rise in purchase intent and a 78% increase in recommendation intent.
“The interactive video ads encouraged deep consumer engagement and higher response rates compared to other media running during this same time. With the proliferation of smartphone devices, this is an area that we’ll continue to invest in and expect to see continued growth,” Linda Gangeri, manager of national advertising at Volvo, said in a prepared statement.
