State-owned telecom operator Telebrás has taken the first step toward awarding highly sought after equipment supply contracts in the national broadband plan, PNBL, a representative for Telebrás confirmed.
Four companies have been tapped as frontrunners in supply contracts worth some 710mn reais (US$426mn), but Telebrás will wait until February 10 to finalize the results of the bidding process, giving the involved parties time to consider resources and potential objections, spokesperson Mariangela Biachi said when contacted by BNamericas.
