Google feels the love with Valentine’s GMaps eCard

We don’t know what they’re drinking over there at the Google Inc. campus, but the search giant has been acting very amorously in the last few days.

First came the launch of “Google for Weddings,” a new portal which basically showcases wedding planning using a variety of Google services (Picasa/Picnik/Docs/Sites, etc.) and provides handy templates, such as a frankly-overwhelming Budget Planner (what the hell is a “Boutonnière?”).

Next in Google’s ongoing quest to seduce us all is the adorable Valentines Day/Google Maps eCard, wherein you pick a location that has special significance for you and your true love, add a message and send it off. Or, if you’re slightly more ham-fisted (like myself), you mix up the “To” and “From” fields, and end up sending a card to yourself from your partner – sorry about that, Ashley.

You can find the eCards at mapyourvalentine.com – perfect for those of us who forget to buy real cards.

Google have also busted out a special Robert Indiana-style Valentine’s Day Doodle to adorn their front page.

Say what you like about Google, but they’re certainly a sentimental bunch.
