Movers & Shakers: WAC announces new members; Cellcrypt appoints president; and more

Cellcrypt, provider of encrypted cell phone voice calling, announced the appointment of Matthew Cochran to the position of president of Cellcrypt FZE. He will be leading the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific operations and business development, with a focus on company-wide global offset & countertrade activities while based at Cellcrypt FZE’s headquarters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Clarity, the provider of unified telecommunications operational management solutions designed to simplify operations, announced that it has appointed Pawel Kleczek as vice president of business cevelopment, Central and Eastern Europe. Kleczek joins Clarity from Comarch, where he spent the last 11 years, with his most recent role being a Sales Director in the Telecommunications Business Unit.

Tru, the global mobile network, announced that it has appointed Gary S. Cohen as general manager and senior vice president of Tru Americas. Cohen, who was most recently Managing Director in Lenovo’s Global Sales Organisation, joins Tru with more than 25 years of experience in technology and telecommunications.

Accedian Networks, high performance service assurance solutions provider for carrier ethernet mobile backhaul networks, announces that Mr. George Riedel has agreed to join Accedian Networks’ board of directors and serve as its chairman. Prior to joining Nortel, Riedel was vice president, strategy and corporate development for Juniper Networks. His previous career experience includes 15 years at the management consulting firm of McKinsey and Company.

O3b Networks announced today that it has appointed Steve Collar as chief executive officer. Mr. Collar succeeds Mark Rigolle after the completion of O3b’s latest financing round in November 2010. Mr. Collar joins O3b from SES where he served as SVP of Business and Market Development for SES WORLD SKIES.

The Wholesale Applications Community (WAC), an alliance of telecommunications companies committed to building an open applications platform, announced that 10 additional organisations from across the mobile ecosystem have joined the initiative, taking membership levels to 68 companies. Adobe, Amdocs, Eyeline, HP, IBM, Minigate, Neustar, Panasonic, SAP and SanDisk have all joined WAC, enabling them to access the materials and support required to launch WAC products.
