@ MWC: The Weather Channel reignites global efforts

BARCELONA, Spain—With 35 million downloads, The Weather Channel is the second-highest smart-phone application in the United States. Now the company is reigniting its international efforts. The Weather Channel’s Mike Zarrilli spoke with Executive Editor Tracy Ford about those plans during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
Initially, the company is focusing on Western Europe, where it has language capabilities and where it can get advertising dollars, but the company has made inroads into Spanish-speaking and Asian countries as well.
