STM Group, supplier of DVB-RCS satellite network systems, announced the appointment of Walter Reichert to the newly created position of General Manager for North America. Previously, Mr. Reichert held the position of Senior VP and General Manager at Advantech’s Advanced Satellite Networks. Mr.Reichert has also held positions at EMS and Spar Aerospace.
The Internet Society, announced Walda W. Roseman as incoming Chief Operating Officer. Roseman will help guide the operational activities of the Internet Society, enabling the organization to achieve greater geographic reach and deliver on its mission to help ensure an open, globally accessible Internet for the benefit of individuals worldwide. A key area of focus for the Chief Operating Officer will be to extend Internet Society initiatives to new audiences globally, working in concert with the society’s Regional Bureaus, Chapters and Members. Roseman will also lead the drive to expand membership, with an emphasis on new industries and emerging markets.
Zamboola announced that it has named Andrew E. Gomes to serve as the company’s new chief executive officer. Zamboola made news in early 2010 by announcing a new patent pending technology that uses cell phones and desktop peripherals, laptop style terminals and tablet computer style terminals to replace traditional PCs, laptop computers and tablet computers.
Pliant Technology, developer of enterprise-class solid state storage devices, announced the retirement of chief executive officer Amyl Ahola, who will remain on the company’s Board of Directors. The company has named Richard Wilmer as the new chief executive officer. Richard Wilmer brings more than 25 years of industry experience to Pliant. Prior to Pliant, Wilmer served as COO and acting CFO for Santur Corporation, and previously as its vice president of global operations.
