AUSTIN, Texas-It’s time to shine the silverware and grab a bib. Launched in 2008, Austin Restaurant Week will run another installment April 10-13, and April 17-20, to celebrate fine dining in Austin. This year, of course, there is an app for it as well.
Participants will be given the opportunity to eat at more than 60 establishments throughout the city, ranging from $10 to $15 for two-course lunches, $15 to $20 for brunch combinations, and $25 to $35 for dinners with a three-course pre-determined menu. The concept is to make fine dining affordable and allow Austinites the chance to try several of the best venues in town. All participating restaurants will offer dinner with some also expanding promotions to brunch and lunch. A full listing of restaurants, prices and offerings can be found here.
Reservations are encouraged but not required and food items will be determined by the chefs of each restaurant, including menu classics as well as new creations. The Austin Restaurant Week app allows users to view a complete list of participating restaurants and menus, make reservations, narrow choices using restaurant filters, find directions, invite friends and gain access to events or use the “surprise me” button and allow the app to pick where a user will get a meal. Paper maps will also be distributed at all participating restaurants and at several local businesses in Austin. The app is free and available at both the App Store and the Android Market. Links to the downloads can be found here.
There is also a chance to win gift cards and prizes by registering through the app. Partial proceeds from the event will benefit the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas and Meals on Wheels and More.
