Still perplexed by Sprint Nextel Corp.’s (S) “Now Network” advertising tagline? Well, set that confusion aside for a new round of head scratching as the nation’s No. 3 operator is set to unveil its new marketing mantra with “All. Together. Now.”
Sprint Nextel said the new advertising campaign will build on its Now Network “positioning” in promoting the idea that customers “can get what they want, when they want while on the Sprint network,” and “by celebrating the growing importance of what people are doing with their mobile devices – talking, texting, emailing, posting videos, tweeting and updating their Facebook pages – and encourages even more fun, uplifting social interaction with one another.”
Isn’t marketing fun!
All of this “celebrating” is based on Sprint Nextel’s Simply Everything data plans that push the unlimited-ness of calls to mobile numbers, messaging and data services.
The new campaign, developed by San Francisco-based agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, will entail television, print and online banner advertisements. Those online ads will focus on the social networking craze sweeping the world and feature a soon-to-be centenarian, Veatrice Henson, that will display her actual phone number and e-mail address and ask viewers to call, text and e-mail her. Sprint Nextel said it will help Veatrice respond to “many” of her messages.
The new campaign will also include all the customary social networking angles like a Facebook page to encourage further interaction. No word on what part a black-and-white Sprint Nextel CEO Dan Hesse will play in the proceedings.
