Capital Markets: America Movil acquires StarOne; Motricity buys mobile advertising firm; and more

Motricity announced it has completed its acquisition of Adenyo, a mobile advertising, marketing, and analytics solutions provider with operations in the United States, Canada and Europe. Motricity’s integration of Adenyo’s capabilities into its software as a service platform, mCore, significantly expands the company’s solution set and available target markets. Motricity further strengthens its position to capitalize on the strong growth of both smartphone and mobile advertising markets.

Spacenet Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. and provider of broadband network solutions, announced that it has acquired CICAT Networks. CICAT Networks, bases in Virginia, is a nationwide provider of broadband network solutions that uses a network deployment approach which is vendor neutral and thus optimized for the customer.

Scanbuy, mobile barcode solutions, announced that it has raised an additional $5 million to complete its latest round of funding. Investors for the round include Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, Hudson Ventures and a number of existing private investors.

Brightpoint, provider of supply chain solutions to the wireless industry, announced the successful completion of its strategic investment in Intcomex by its wholly-owned Miami-based subsidiary, Brightpoint Latin America. The transaction was previously announced on March 16, 2011. Intcomex is a leading Information Technology (IT) distributor focused solely on Latin America and the Caribbean.
