Fuse Powered Inc. announced the completion of a $2 million seed funding round, with contributions from BlackBerry Partners Fund and NFQ Ventures. The investment will accelerate Fuse – a digital mobile game publisher – from early-stage to fully-established, as it finalizes plans for significant developer and brand partnerships, new business initiatives and mobile game launches in the coming months. Specifically, Fuse will use the investment to expand staffing, technology infrastructure, partnership support, and business development.
Unsocial, location based business networking tool that enables people to find each other based on search criteria and proximity and network in real time, announces that it has closed its first round of seed financing and preparing for Series A. This initial round of funding, received from accredited individual investors, will allow Unsocial to continue to expand its functionality, including updates to its integration with LinkedIn, as well as positioning the company for continued growth and future investment.
SkyCross, a global developer and manufacturer of advanced antenna and RF solutions, announced it has closed on $11 million in financing, the first tranche of Series E, expected to be the company’s final round of equity financing. SkyCross intends to close the second tranche of the round, up to $15 million, by the end of June. The capital raised will be used to support the company’s rapidly increasing business in Asia and the United States. Significantly, the round includes new equity from DOCOMO Capital as a strategic investor.
Qualcomm announced that it has completed its acquisition of Atheros Communications. The Atheros team will operate as Qualcomm Atheros Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm. In addition, the Qualcomm connectivity team will shift over to Qualcomm Atheros to combine resources and roadmaps. This creates one of the industry’s most robust portfolios of connectivity, networking and location solutions for mobile, computing, enterprise and consumer electronic devices.
Hewlett-Packard announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Printelligent, a closely held provider of managed print services (MPS). Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Upon completion of the acquisition, Printelligent’s assets will be integrated into the LaserJet and Enterprise Solutions unit within the Imaging and Printing Group of HP.
Twitter officially announced on their blog that they have acquired TweetDeck. TweetDeck provides brands, publishers, marketers and others with a platform to track all the real-time conversations they care about. Twitter reportedly is paying between $40 million and $50 million in cash and stock. Read more here.
