Connie Durcsak has been chosen to lead the Utilities Telecom Council, effective July 1, according to the lobbying group. Durcsak succeeds William Mulrony, who is retiring from UTC on June 30. He has served as president and CEO of the association since 1998.
Durcsak previously was senior director, member and industry services at PCIA and executive director of the DAS Forum. She had been with PCIA since 2002.
“Connie brings industry knowledge and experience that will be very beneficial to UTC and its members. She has the leadership skills and enthusiasm required to lead UTC confidently into the future,” said Ron Beck, UTC chairman of the board and network engineer, Central Lincoln People’s Utility District. “Connie’s current focus on wireless issues, spectrum management and frequency coordination combined with her ability to set the strategic direction of advocacy efforts have great synergies with UTC’s strategic goals moving forward.”
“We are always happy to see PCIA employees recognized for their talent and success—and in Connie’s case, selected for a leadership position,” said PCIA CEO Mike Fitch. “We wish her well in this new endeavor.”
