RCR Unplugged has long reported the rumor that the iPad 3 will sport a 3D display, but our friends over at Netbook News seem to be one step closer to furnishing proof, offering an eye opening video from a recent Taiwan tech show.
Captured at display manufacturer CPT’s booth, NN found a concept prototype of what could very well be the next generation iPad running 3D. The prototype version seems to require 3D specs, though RCR Unplugged hears Apple may well choose to go with a glasses-less 3D technology when the time comes.
As NN explains, a move towards 3D would make sense based on Apple’s decisions to date, especially with regard to focusing on ultra-high resolution and DPI, which would be naturally split by the left-eye/right-eye 3D tech. Thus, starting from the highest possible resolution is a must.
If all goes to plan, Apple should be releasing its next generation tablet in Q212.
