Austin-based tablet manufacturer Xplore Technologies Corp. (XLRT) today announced a net loss of $6.3M for the year ending on March 31, deepening a hole that was at $5.5M from the same quarter last year.
Revenues at the company listed at $17.7M for the fiscal year, contrasted by $21.9M for the same quarter last year. The revenue decreased at 19% and the company claims it’s due to customers and channel partners who postponed large orders due to expectations surrounding a new product line which launched in North America in May.
Xplore specializes in manufacturing, selling, supporting and developing rugged, shell-cased and impact resistant tablets. The firm was launched in 1996 and currently has 42 employees.
The company is trying to rebound and announced an extensive product launch in Europe earlier this month for its most recent product line of five new models for sale in Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland and other nations in Europe.
The company completed a $2M round of funding to close out 2010 and finalized a recapitalization venture to control and manage the firm’s subordinated indebtedness. Also in 2010, Xplore introduced the company’s 5th generation system in the iX104C5 tablet family using Intel processors, chipsets, SSD drives and wireless technology for standalone use or use in docking stations.
The company has channel partners in field service, manufacturing, warehousing, utility, energy, law enforcement, fire stations, emergency medical services, federal security, federal, state and local government, military, transportation and distribution and is sold in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia Pacific. Xplore’s main offices are located in Austin, Texas with regional sales offices throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe.
