Developers, feast your eyes on Qualcomm’s Dragonboard

Recently, RCR caught up with Qualcomm in Taipei to take a look at the firm’s latest developer offerings and tasty treats to lure mobile engineers into the Qualcomm ecosystem.

Look no further than the APQ8060 Dragonboard, a bit of beauty, and available as of this month from B-Squared.

The board includes everything a mobile development platform should, from Ethernet, HDMI ports, WVGA display, Touchscreen, cameras, keyboard, SD board, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and much more besides.

The point is to offer access to third party developers who can then figure out how to integrate their components and software to create new products, ready to be shopped around to OEMs as “Qualcomm chipset ready.”

With the baseboard coming in at about $300 and all the add-ons totaling just $200, that’s really not a huge investment for a serious developer – or even a garage hobbyist – to make. Even better, it can be upgraded with a 10-inch touchscreen for all those aspiring tablet devs out there.
