Intel Capital has announced that David Thomas will return to his position as director of strategic investments for Intel Latin America, after a hiatus of 18 months. During that time, Thomas served as director general of the mergers and acquisitions group at Intel Capital, where he was responsible for large mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures.
The executive has worked at Intel Capital since 2000 and directed operations of Intel Capital Latin America between 2003 and 2009. During that period, he was directly involved in dozens of strategic investments and managed several successful exits of portfolio companies, such as Sonda (IPO), Exactus (acquired by Softland), Spring Wireless (private sale), Yavox (acquired by Naspers ) and Ativi (acquired by Euronet).
David Thomas also served in Latin America as honorary president of the Association of Venture Capital in Latin America (LAVCA) and as a founding member of the Centre for Brazilian Studies in Private Equity and Venture Capital FGV. The executive will be based in São Paulo.
