Sprint Nextel Corp. has teamed up with Samsung Telecommunications America to offer consumers a sub $100 Android phone running on Sprint Nextel’s WiMAX version of 4G.
The Samsung Conquer 4G boasts some fairly decent specs for its price, including Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), a 1GHz processor, a 3.5-inch touchscreen and two cameras, 3.2-megapixels and 1.3-megapixels respectively.
From August 21, interested punters will be able to shell out $99.99 for the phone, as long as they take out a two year contract.
Since Sprint’s 4G is not readily available everywhere, the phone also comes with a backup 3G mode, as well as Wi-Fi.
In terms of memory, Sprint offers the phone with only a rather stingy 2GB MicroSD card included, but consumers can upgrade that up to 32GB.
We’re told it is Sprint’s 25th 4G-capable device.
