Startup Quixey said it raised $3.8 million in Series A funding as it brings its search engine for applications to market. The funding, co-led by U.S. Venture Partners and WI Harper Group will enable to the company continue its work with partners and spur growth.
The company, led by Tomer Kagan, co-founder and CEO, is developing a search engine for apps. Quixey uses its search engine to help users find the applications they want more quickly. People have a lot of information at their fingertips with all of the mobile applications on the market today, Kagan said, but that information doesn’t translate into helping them find the app they want.
Quixey has added hundreds of pieces of data about each app to its search engine.
“Apps make people’s lives better. And today we are one step closer to bridging the
gap between people and technology that enriches our day-to-day lives. Quixey is
working with companies throughout the world to ensure that their users can finally
access what technology has to offer,” Kagan said.
Quixey is an all platform app search engine – searching mobile,
desktop, web and browser apps and is working with operators, device makers and operating system developers among others in the sector.
The funding builds on a $400,000 investment announced in March, according to Kagan, who founded the company nearly three years ago.
