Do you know your Identified score? Identified, a startup that is using Facebook data to connect job seekers with employers, launches today after just six weeks in public beta, making the scores of 50 million people public information. An Identified score is based on three criteria: work history, education and Facebook connections. People who register with Identify.com give the company permission to share with employers the information behind the score, as well as their profile picture.
Although Identified says it is making all scores public today, people may have a hard time finding their own scores unless they register with Identified. When you register with Identify, the service asks permission to access any information you have made public, send you emails, post to Facebook as you, and access your profile information as well as the profile information your friends share with you.
Identified says that it will not share personal information such as posts, status updates, uploaded pictures or videos with employers, nor will it share a person’s job applications or GPA with that person’s Facebook friends.
So far, more than 90% of registered users are under 30, making Identified a potential hot spot for companies looking to recruit young talent. Identified says it has already shared 1.8 million scores with employers, and that it has thousands of companies requesting data. The company is backed by a cadre of investors including Bill Draper, Tim Draper, Joel Peterson, John Glynn, John Frankel, Chamath Palihapitiya (from Facebook), Alexander Tamas, Fadi Ghandour, Deebek Ventures and Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors.
