Reliance Communication’s ARPU declines

Reliance Communication, whose net profit is declining and has one of the lowest average revenue per user (ARPU) in the industry, has witnessed a further decline in its ARPU in Q2 of the current financial year.

The company’s ARPU, which is already lower than other telecom operators like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular in terms of ARPUs and minutes of usage, declined to $2.01 per subscriber in Q2 from $2.05 per subscriber in the same period of the previous year.

“The wireless revenue per minute, however, increased to $0.01, according to key performance parameters disclosed by the company in its comprehensive quarterly report released Monday.

The customer base of the company rose 2.7% to 147 million from 143 million in the same period of the previous year.
