Ericsson said it would begin looking for a new chief technology officer after the move by current CTO Håkan Eriksson to a new role as head of the company’s business in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji beginning Feb. 1.
In addition to his position as CTO, Eriksson also serves as senior vice president, head of group function technology and portfolio management, and head of Ericsson in Silicon Valley. The move comes as Eriksson’s tenure leading Ericsson’s Silicon Valley operations comes to an end.
Eriksson, who was named CTO in 2003, will also no longer be part of Ericsson’s executive leadership team. The company expects to announce a new CTO shortly.
