MWC 2012: Brightstar focuses on device life cycle management solutions

Device life cycle management has been a complex issue for corporations that need to deal with an increasing proliferation of device types, business demands for flexibility, and the consumerization of devices.

Indeed, CIOs note that managing a wireless portfolio is becoming more complex than ever as manufacturers, operators, retailers and enterprises are facing new challenges brought on by the flood of new devices in the market, shifting consumer tastes, and market growth and maturity in some regions around the world.

Brightstar Corp. has chosen the 2012 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week to showcase solutions that address device life cycle management. The company has expanded its service offerings to leverage its global reach and local expertise to meet these evolving challenges and opportunities.

In a statement, Marcelo Claure, chairman and CEO of Brightstar, said that “by first listening to our customers and understanding their specific needs, we can use our global intelligence to tailor innovative solutions to help increase their performance and profitability.”

The specialized wireless distributor and a services and solutions provider noted that device life cycle solutions can represent significant opportunity for subscriber growth in emerging markets. In advanced and developing markets, operators are seeking new sources of revenue and need to create customer loyalty.

In its portfolio, Brightstar has organized its solutions into five service pillars: value-added distribution; supply chain optimization services; retail services; IT VARs mobility services; and consumer services.

The company aims not only to manage the device supply chain, but also to help its customers build consumer loyalty, drive more sales, and simplify the complexities of the entire life cycle of a device.
