The Paraguayan National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) has called for a second public consultation for the tendering of 1700-2100 MHz spectrum bands. The government has not yet set the date for the auction. Proposals need to be completed by April 13.
Conatel will take bids on the frequency bands of “C” (1730-1740 MHz and 2130-2140 MHz); “D” (1740-1750 MHz and 2140-2150 MHz); “E” (1750 -1760 MHz and 2150-2160 MHz); and “F” (1760-1770 MHz and 2160-2170 MHz).

According to the bidding rules (read the document for more details – in Spanish), to participate, the candidates’ economic capacity should be no less than $10 million.
Each candidate can gain a maximum of 40 megahertz of spectrum in the auction. The frequencies of 1710-1730 MHz and 2210-2130 MHz will not be part of the auction as they belong to Copaco.
The initial minimum bid will be $600,000 for each sub-band (10×10 megahertz block).
