French MVNE Sisteer eyes Brazil’s MVNO market

Another player looking to grow in the Brazilian mobile virtual network operator market is the French mobile virtual network enabler Sisteer. The company was granted a license to operate as an MVNx by Brazilian telecommunication regulator Anatel last December.

From Anatel’s perspective the license gives Sisteer the ability to implement a full MVNE platform and manage an entire value chain. Thanks to the license, the French company will be able to operate all the technical and operational components required to commercialize MVNO offerings in Brazil.

During this week’s MVNO Industry Summit Latam (check all stories), CEO Alain Bureau said that so far Sisteer has closed its first brand agreement and has a partnership with an MVNO for the set-up of an MVNE platform and service. Bureau noted that the company is currently in discussions with several MVNO candidates, and it is implementing the MVNx platform.

Among future steps, Sisteer has to launch its first brand model MVNO as well as to close deals with MVNOs for 2012 and 2013; manage the sales funnel and open MVNE services, enabling new MVNOs.
