As noted by Juan Pablo Calvo, Viva’s executive vice-president, this year the carrier is installing 200 new antennas, increasing the amount sites where its signal is carried and allowing coverage of 68% of the nation’s territory.

Over the last 12 years, the carrier said it has invested U.S.$333 million, focused on infrastructure, services and technology renovation.

As part of this new phase, Viva presented a new brand image earlier this month, which marks an internal change linked to the customer experience re-engineering process. According to the carrier, the new logo represents technological innovation and reflects the company’s personality as dynamic, modern and creative.

As noted in TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Viva is Bolivia’s third largest mobile network operator, claiming approximately 24% of the market at end-March 2011, and trailing Entel Movil and Telecel (Tigo), which had 43.5% and 32.6% respectively.
