The integration is expected to expand coverage for Voilà customers, which now will be able to use the combined network in areas that are not currently covered by Voilà.
Voila, formerly known as Communication Cellulaire d’Haiti, was launched in Haiti in 1998. Digicel picked up the carrier due to its loyal customer base, success in the Haitian market and its workforce.
According to Digicel, all Voila devices that can only connect on the 850 and 1900 MHz frequencies will no longer work on the new combined network. The service will be available to customers with handsets that are compatible with the combined Voilà/Digicel network. Compatible handsets are sold at the main Voilà stores or any Digicel dealer stores. A range of support offers are also being made available to customers to facilitate the making.
