Chilean telecommunications group Entel‘s revenue rose 15% in the third quarter of 2012, principally driven by mobile,  data (including IT) and network rental services. Entel’s total mobile customers also increased to 9,890,178 in the third quarter of 2012,  a 15% expansion compared to the third quarter of 2011.

The Chilean economy continued to grow at a healthy rate, driven by domestic consumption, and Entel showed a corresponding 16% growth in mobile services boosted by service revenue, inline with its consistent average customer base expansion ( +17%) combined with a reduction in blended ARPU (-2%).
Entel’s post-paid subscriber base (voice and MBB) grew 12%, representing 31% of the total customer base, while prepaid (voice and MBB) increased 17%. Mobile broadband subscribers (MBB) reached 1,074,255 (including M2M data cards), growing 21% compared to 3Q11.
Revenues in the first nine months of 2012 expanded 16% compared to the same period of 2011. Check out the 3Q12 financial results here.
The exchange rate at September 30, 2012 was Ch$473.77/U.S.$ 1. Â Average inflation from 3Q11 to 3Q12 was 2.6%.
