Regional carrier C Spire Wireless is introducing new plans that allow customers to share data across up to 10 devices, following the lead of Verizon Wireless and AT&T.
The SHARED Data plans are available to both new and existing customers, who can share one data plan across multiple feature phones, smartphones, tablets, modems and other connected devices.
“As part of our long-standing commitment to keep the customer in control of their wireless experience and to offer competitive, no overage plans, our SHARED Data plans offer simple, easy and worry-free options to share data without concern over costly, surprise bills,” said Suzy Hays, senior vice president for brand management and personalization.
Customers can start using the new plans by selecting their devices, and choosing a plan that includes unlimited talk, SMS and MMS and a shared data allowance that begins at an increment of 1 GB for $50, up to $150 for 20 GB; larger quantities of shared data can also be purchased. Monthly line access costs include $20 for USB modems, $30 for feature phones, and $40 for smartphones. C Spire also provides customer alerts when a user reaches his or her data limit, along with options to purchase shared data passes as needed throughout the month. Those passes start at $10 for 500 MB of data and range up to $75 for 5 GB.
C Spire allows its customers to add or switch to the new SHARED Data plans without additional fees or contract extensions. The company conducted research in its customer forums in developing the plans.
“Now customers get the ultimate in personalization through the ability to choose up front the plan they want and the price that best fits how they use their phone, along with the flexibility of sharing a single data allowance across multiple devices,” said Hays.
C Spire Wireless was formerly Cellular South, and has been launching LTE service across its southeastern U.S. markets to draw customers with faster network speeds, as well as touting its services as more personalized than that of the national wireless operators.
