Telecom Analytics: Big data trends; Volubill, KXEN launches

The consultant Paul Magnone wrote recently in Forbes about what he calls the four big data trends that will change everything. As Magnone noted, rather than new trends that tend to blindside companies, these trends are actionable insights that companies should exploit to grow. Check them out:

Releases
There were only a couple releases this week.

  • Volubill, a charging and policy solution provider, launched an analytical reporting solution. According to the company, the solution allows operators to offer more compelling packages, answers key business stakeholder questions and predicts consumer behavior using a highly-visual dashboard. It has remote, cloud-based access and real-time data manipulation.
  • KXEN, provider of predictive analytics for business users, announced support for geo-location in its flagship predictive analytics solution, InfiniteInsight®. KXEN said that it supports geo-localized data in predictive models, enabling new insight to be derived from data sources such as phone calls, GPS, machine sensors, geo-referenced signals and social media (e.g. check-ins, tweets, likes, clicks, etc.).
