WidePoint acquires Soft-ex

Managed mobility services provider WidePoint Corporation has purchased Soft-ex Communications to strengthen its offerings for analytics for global service providers.

Soft-ex specializes in telecom data intelligence (TDI) in Europe and the Middle East, offerings its analytics as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for service providers and their enterprise customers for IP/PABX, fixed and mobile services. Soft-ex’s telecom customers include Telefonica, British Telecom, Telia and KPN.

WidePoint, through a wholly-owned subsidiary, paid $5 million at the transaction closing along with issuing a one-year contingent subordinated unsecured seller’s note for $1 million. WidePoint expects the purchase to contribute at least $6 million in annualized revenues, with more growth coming from cross-selling opportunities and complementary services.

“The combination of WidePoint’s secure managed mobility services coupled with Soft-ex’s European and Middle East presence, channel partners, and additional portfolio of services provides our combined operations with a stronger base of operations, services, and global growth opportunities,” said Steve Komar, WidePoint’s CEO, in a statement.

Ian Sparling, CEO of Soft-ex, said that the transaction “complements our focus and expertise on delivering business intelligence and subscriber data intelligence to the global service provider market.”
