For Long Term Evolution to be a true success, it not only has to be fast, but also has to play nice with friends. To address this, Alcatel-Lucent launched product Alcatel-Lucent 7750 Service Router (SR), a next-generation mobile gateway for LTE/4G.The Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR acts as a mobile plan platform that supports 3GPP cellular-Wi-Fi integration and can be deployed as:

    • A standalone Long Term Evolution (LTE) Serving Gateway (SGW) or LTE Packet Data Network Gateway (PGW)
    • A standalone 2G/3G/3G+ Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN)
    • A combined PGW/GGSN or SGW/PGW/GGSN (single node)
    • A Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN, WLAN) gateway.
7750 SR Family

Alcatel-Lucent 7750

The Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR Mobile Gateway was engineered in preparation of the evolution of mobile broadband to address the exponential increase in the number of users, devices and applications as well as higher bandwidth usage, lower latency and longer duration of data sessions.

This next-generation data plane platform can converge and consolidate LTE and 3G+ mobile cores. The 7750 SR is the core member of Alcatel-Lucent’s IP/MPLS service router portfolio, and a main element of the Alcatel-Lucent High Leverage Network™ (HLN) architecture, which helps improve traffic delivery.

The 7750 SR feature set enables it to be deployed as a Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) for residential services, as a multi-service edge for carrier Ethernet and IP VPN business services, as the aggregation router in mobile backhaul applications, or as a mobile gateway for wireless networks.

The 7750 SR supports 10GigE and 100GigE interfaces, along with core routing applications. Available in four chassis variants, the 7750 SR scales capacity from 90 Gb/s to 2 Tb/s and beyond, providing cost-effective solutions to address the smallest to the largest network locations.

Key features include:

    • 400 Gb/s FP3 silicon
    • End-to-end Operating System
    • High Availability
    • Advanced Hierarchical QoS
    • Service Routing Specialization
    • Service-Aware Management
