Test & Measurement: Anritsu extends GCF-approved IMS test cases

Anritsu said that the Global Certification Forum confirmed at its recent Taipei meeting that the company’s ME7834L protocol conformance test system has the highest number of approved IMS test cases for device certification.
Anritsu has 22 validated IMS test cases, including some industry-first GCF approvals. The test company received the first IMS emergency services test case validation from PTCRB in March, and now has GCF approved test cases that cover mobile telephony service for IMS, SMS over IMS, emergency call over IMS and IMS service specific access control.
Rohde & Schwarz joined the M2M Alliance, with an eye toward supporting new market segments that need test and measurement equipment to verify the wireless performance of products for machine-to-machine or “Internet of things” applications.
Jörg Köpp, who is responsible for the M2M/NFC market segment at Rohde & Schwarz, said that M2M technologies are “opening up entirely new fields of application for our wireless test solutions.”
Agilent Technologies reported its results this week, with profits impacted by the cost of separating its electronic testing business into a stand-alone company that will be called Keysight Technologies.
Agilent also launched new impedance analyzers for passive electrical components, semiconductor devices and materials. Agilent claims the E4990A and E4991B are “the only instruments on the market with the measurement accuracy to evaluate components from mohm to Mohm over the 20 Hz to 3 GHz frequency range, and to uncover the real characteristics of high-quality components.”
Agilent also provided new test equipment to the electrical engineering and computer science department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Ascom Network Testing has joined the 5G Innovation Center at the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom, joining companies including Aeroflex, Rohde & Schwarz, Samsung, Huawei and Vodafone in developing “5G” technologies and a 5G test bed on the university campus.
Fluke Networks launched three new products this week for its cabling certification and testing line, aiming to speed up the completion of fiber jobs in large enterprises and data centers.
Mobile Labs and Soasta have partnered on automated mobile app testing for the enterprise, with remotely managed and accessed devices to speed the development process. Soasta’s ToughTest mobile test automation solution enables recording, visual test editing and precise replay on mobile devices, which Mobile Lab’s private mobile device cloud supports remote access to Apple and Android smartphones and tablets.
