AT&T and Amazon are teaming up to offer secure access to the cloud. Together the companies will extend AT&T NetBond to Amazon Web Services, the world’s largest cloud provider by a wide margin. AT&T’s NetBond offers companies secure virtual private networks, and already extends to the cloud via several other providers, including IBM, CSC, Microsoft, Equinix, Salesforce, HP, Box and VMWare.
Virtual private networks offer companies a faster and more secure Internet connection over both fixed and mobile networks. According to AT&T, VPNs also cut costs for enterprises by dynamically adjusting bandwidth to the customer’s needs.
AT&T and Amazon said their integrated solution will be available next year.
