Ericsson believes promotions will improve attrition rates around the world
In an effort to retain the best talent, telecom equipment giant, Ericsson, is reportedly making a concerted effort to promote more workers from its Indian business to executive positions around the world to increase its global talent pool.
“We are creating a global expertise pool that is aware of Ericsson’s techniques, merchandise, processes and may work in any geography, and a number of other Indian managers have just lately taken on global roles contributing to the bigger group,” Sameer Khanna, VP and head of human resources at Ericsson India, said.
Khan points to engagement exercises, talent management and global mobility programs as factors that have contributed to its low attrition rates in India.
In an effort to capitalize on the positive results from its Indian businesses, Ericsson is moving high-level Indian employees to strategic posts around the world. They recently moved two Indian executives to the U.K. and another to Qatar in an effort to battle attrition rates and increase career mobility for its employees, The Times of India reports.
The Swedish company recently promoted the head of its global customer unit in India to a post in the U.K. to help drive its network-managed services business. Ericsson also promoted its GM of pricing at Ericsson India to run its global customer commercial operations unit in Qatar.
