On the inaugural episode of Cell Tower News, host Joey Jackson of RCR Wireless News discusses cell tower site acquisition and attendant topics with Bryan Darr, president and CEO of Mosaik Solutions.
Darr has spent most of his professional life in the wireless industry, beginning his career in cellular as a sales representative for Cellular One of Memphis in 1985. After discovering his customers were having difficulty traveling with their phones, he founded Mosaik Solutions (originally American Roamer) in 1988 and began developing consumer roaming guides.
“Mobile telephony to most of the world is just magic,” Darr said. “They don’t fully understand just what is involved in actually getting that signal back and forth … that mysterious equipment. It’s infrastructure. You’ve got to have towers, you’ve got to have cell sites. It’s a very complex business.”
Also on this episode of Cell Tower News is a weekly roundup of headlines from the tower industry provided by Jarad Matula, RCR’s content marketing and demand generation specialist.
Jackson also features a picture sent in from tower climbers working in the field. Spoiler alert: If you’re afraid of snakes, you may not like the submission for this week.
