Huawei enterprise revenue almost doubles since 2014

The Chinese firm expects the Enterprise Business Group to reach revenue of $10B in 2019

SHANGHAI – Chinese ICT provider Huawei’s Enterprise Business Group generated revenue of nearly $1.8 billion in the first half of the year, climbing 48% compared to the same period last year.

The Chinese firm expects its Enterprise Business Group to reach revenue of nearly $10 billion by 2019, the company’s EBG President Yan Lida told reporters during Huawei Cloud Congress 2015, being held in Shanghai, China.

Huawei launched its Enterprise Business Group in 2011. Last year, the EBG represented 7% of Huawei’s overall revenue. The Carrier Business Group accounted for 67% of overall revenue while the Consumer Business Group represented the remaining 26%.

According to Huawei’s 2014 financial results, the Enterprise Business Group recorded revenue of nearly $3 billion, growing 27.3% vs. the previous year. During 2014, the business group saw increasing demand for cloud data center solutions and agile networks.

“Facing a wave of digital transformation, traditional industries need customized cloud services that combine industry-specific applications and ICT infrastructure. That’s where industry clouds come into play,” Lida said.

Earlier this year and as part of the Chinese company’s strategy to expand its EBG business, Huawei and German operator Deutsche Telekom signed an agreement to jointly provide IT and private cloud services to enterprise customers. Lida said the agreement with the European telco was the first agreement with a service provider outside China in the cloud services segment.

The executive also said that based on the future development of this partnership with Deutsche Telecom, Huawei will evaluate additional partnerships for similar agreements with other operators in new overseas markets.
