T-Mobile continues to alter its rate plan promotions, with the latest 2-line offer including 6 GB of data per line and targeting Verizon Wireless
Just a week into the second quarter and T-Mobile US continues to tweak its rate plans, the latest move being a two-line promotion targeted at Verizon Wireless.
T-Mobile US said beginning April 8 – and available for a “limited time” – customers can get two lines of service with unlimited voice calling, text messaging and 6 gigabytes of data per line for $80 per month, which is $30 per month less expensive than the same rate plan offered today. The new offering includes all of T-Mobile US’ usual Simple Choice services, including its Binge On video platform, Music Freedom streaming music service, Data Stash of up to 20 GB and various international roaming services.
The carrier targets Verizon Wireless’ current two-line plan, which for $100 per month includes unlimited voice calling, text messaging and 6 GB of shared data.
T-Mobile US earlier this week ditched its multiline, unlimited data promotion in favor of a four-line plan providing unlimited voice calling, text messaging and 10 gigabytes of unthrottled data per line for $140, which is an $80 per month discount compared with “regular” pricing, though $20 more than what the plan was priced at starting in February. The promotion replaces the carrier’s previous four-line, unlimited data plan, which was also launched in February and provided the potential for unthrottled data up to 25 gigabytes of usage per month, per line, with the carrier reserving the right to curtail speeds at that usage point. Customers can still select unlimited data, though pricing now for four lines of service is at $220 per month.
