The solution offers IoT devices such as sensors, cameras and modules
Orange Business Services, the business services arm of French telecommunications group Orange, launched its internet of things (IoT) and data analytics modular offer Datavenue globally.
The company said that Datavenue will help multinational and French corporations seize the opportunities offered by the IoT.
“We have developed extensive vertical expertise around IoT and data analytics in several sectors, including automotive, industry, smart cities, healthcare and smart homes,” said Olivier Ondet, IoT and analytics vice president, Orange Business Services.
“Our solutions have already improved performance and employee safety through industrial machinery monitoring, enhanced patient care with remote assistance, and enriched citizen well-being with smart city services. This is now all being brought together to support the international launch of Orange Datavenue.”
Datavenue offers a full range of certified and tested connected objects, such as sensors, cameras or modules to connect existing assets. Datavenue has a catalog of data that includes population movement analytics using anonymized data from mobile networks.
With the solution, Orange also provides a broad range of connectivity options, including global cellular networks, worldwide fixed and satellite networks, as well as low-power solutions, such as LoRa.
Datavenue also offers both cloud-based and on-premises software solutions, including remote device management, processing and visualization. Orange also said it would ensure end-to- end security and data protection, integration with information systems and service scalability.
Datavenue was commercially launched in France in 2015. Orange Business Services operates more than 10 million active B2B objects and processes 65 million items of technical data per minute currently.
Telia launches VoLTE technology in Norway
Also in EMEA, Swedish telecoms group Telia Company has launched VoLTE technology in Norway.
“With a sufficient number of mobile phones that support the VoLTE technology available, the timing to launch 4G Tale is perfect. The coverage, speed and quality in the 4G network makes it fully equipped to maximize the potential of new technologies,” Telia Noway’s CTO Jon Christian Hillestad said.
The telco said that customers with compatible handsets will have calls automatically diverted over
the company’s LTE network, running in the 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600 MHz frequency bands.
Telia Norway currently serves 2.3 million mobile customers. The telco’s LTE network currently
reaches 98% of the population in the Nordic country.
