Sierra Wireless is focusing its IoT device-to-cloud solutions to help enterprises develop and launch new services and business models
According to PwC Canada’s 2017 Global Digital IQ Survey, 73% of organizations are making substantial investments in the IoT space. The IoT is creating new service-oriented opportunities, driving organizations to modernize so they can capitalize on growing amounts of IoT data and provide an enhanced customer experience.
Under the terms of a new agreement, Sierra Wireless and PwC Canada will advise enterprises on IoT transformation best practices and technologies, from articulating the value proposition and building the business case, through to implementation, the companies said.

Sierra Wireless has more than 1,100 employees globally and operates R&D centers in North America, Europe and Asia.
In related news, Sierra Wireless, along with technology providers including ARM, Bosch Sensortec, MediaTek, Orange, Qualcomm Technologies and Talon Communications, have announced the availability of the mangOH Red open source hardware platform.
Targeted at the industrial IoT and maker communities, mangOH Red is an open source enablement platform for IoT.
The platform includes all of the building blocks needed to prototype and test ideas through a quick process, Sierra Wireless said. “mangOH Red is based on feedback from the ecosystem and developer community, resulting in the most compact, feature-rich open source platform that can quickly turn concepts into prototypes and prototypes into products without the need for significant redesign,” said Philippe Guillemette, Chief Technology Officer at Sierra Wireless.
The new offering includes an IoT Expansion Card slot to plug in any technology based on the IoT Connector open standard as well as Sierra Wireless Smart SIM with up to 100 MB free data.
