Kagan: Sprint Flex is the next step in Forever program

Three years ago, Sprint launched their leasing program which revolutionized the way they market with iPhone Forever and Galaxy Forever. This has been successful, so now Sprint is taking it to the next level with Sprint Flex. This has many advantages for customers to choose from. This is for users who want a regular upgrade of any phone, but who are also cost conscious.

“Sprint Flex is the ultimate option for consumers who want the latest device at our most competitive prices with maximum flexibility. Sprint Deals goes one step further, giving price-conscious consumers incredible offers and the option to upgrade to the latest phones every year.” CEO Marcelo Claure said in the announcement.

As wireless gets more complex, we are seeing carriers try to simplify things for users. Sprint Flex simplifies the entire process. There is one purchase option and one term, 18 months. It brings flexibility letting customers lease any phone and have an option to upgrade or purchase later. The choice to upgrade, continue leasing or own is always up to the customer.

Sprint Flex, iPhone Forever and Galaxy Forever

Sprint Flex also offers annual upgrades for everyone. This is already part of the Forever programs, but they enabled the annual upgrade option for all devices starting at $5 per month. Sprint also lets customers build their credit with Sprint Deals and qualify for a free upgrade to a new smartphone after 12 on-time monthly payments in a row.

They built in more consumer flexibility and offer customer new ways to trade, keep or own devices over time. This helps both customers with good credit and those with not so good credit. This will also help Sprint with growth.

Over the last few years, Sprint has come a long way. They have invested in their network and are now excellent quality in more areas than ever. In fact, Sprint has improved so much, Google Project Fi resells them in their MVNO program. That’s a big endorsement for quality and reliability.

Xfinity Mobile, Charter, Google Project Fi and T-Mobile all fans of Sprint

In addition to Google, it seems Sprint is now catching the attention of Comcast and Charter who are now in talks with the wireless carrier. Comcast has re-entered the wireless space with Xfinity Mobile and Charter is expected to enter in 2018. This is another big endorsement for Sprint.

Plus, T-Mobile is in the mix as well. They would like to work with Sprint as well either as a partner or acquisition. The reason all these big-name companies are interested in Sprint? Quality, speed and reliability. They’ve come a long way in the last few years.

Sprint’s recovery is on track and continues to look better, quarter after quarter. If Sprint is good enough for Google Project Fi, Comcast Xfinity Mobile, Charter and T-Mobile, then they are good enough for the average wireless customer as well. This is why they are continuing to acquire new customers and grow. And this new Sprint Flex program makes it even easier for customers to be happier and satisfied.
