Round Room picks up Wireless Advantage stores across the southeast
Verizon authorized retailer Round Room has agreed to acquire competitor Wireless Advantage, boosting its footprint in the Southeast with the purchase of an additional 45 locations in rural and metro markets. Additional details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Carmel, Ind.-based Round Room, which says it is the largest authorized Verizon retailer in the U.S., said that the agreement brings its retail footprint to 1,241 stores in 43 states. The company also operates 876 TCC and 365 Wireless Zone stores across the country.
Wireless Advantage stores will begin operating under the TCC brand. Wireless Advantage’s field staff and store-level employees will become TCC employees, Round Room said, while support staff will move to Round Room’s headquarters in Carmel, Ind.
Round Room said that in the past three years, TCC has “more than doubled in size through acquisitions of wireless retailers and expanded its footprint in more than a dozen states.” TCC picked up Wireless Zone and its more than 350 stores in 2016.
Wireless Advantage began as an Alltel retailer in Alabama in 2001 and transitioned to the Verizon brand when Alltel was acquired by the larger operator. The company was named one of Alabama’s retailers of the year in 2015.
“Wireless Advantage has a great reputation as a top industry retailer with years of strong performance in Verizon’s Southeast market,” said Scott Moorehead, CEO of Round Room, in a statement. “Like TCC, the company has a keen focus on delivering superior customer service with a commitment to developing its employees, and we look forward to bringing our organizations together.”
