U.S. wireless infrastructure company Mobilitie said it is deploying a new wireless network at the US Bank Tower in Los Angeles.
The firm said that the wireless network throughout the building features over 500 antennas and nearly 30,000 feet of fiber. The DAS is remotely powered from a single headend space and designed to accommodate a full 5G system.
?Quality network connectivity was a much needed amenity and a priority for US Bank Tower,? said Sarah Valdez, director of wireless solutions at Mobilitie. ?Our partnership has allowed us to provide this service to their tenants with an efficient and seamless DAS implementation.?
?We?re thrilled to provide another hallmark Los Angeles building with enhanced connectivity,? said Lisa Doumiaty, vice president of wireless solutions at Mobilitie. ?Partnering with US Bank Tower to deploy this network demonstrates our ability to provide world-class wireless solutions to this thriving business and entertainment community. It is also an important expansion of our Los Angeles wireless infrastructure in addition to the thousands of sites we currently operate throughout the city.?
In other news from Mobilitie, the company said last month that it was installing a 5G wireless network inside Chicago?s iconic Daley Center, the city?s premier civic center. The project provides the Daley Center with a neutral-host network for reliable voice, data and streaming connectivity throughout the building.
Melissa Mullarkey, regional vice president of wireless solutions at Mobilitie, told In-Building Tech that Mobilitie is seeing an increasing interest from the government segment in in-building projects.
?In-building wireless demand is growing exponentially. We are seeing accelerated interest from government buildings and across all segments of the real estate sector. All industries are going through a digital transformation and massive investment in wireless infrastructure is needed to keep pace with demand.? The demand for in-building wireless systems is driven by the ongoing growth of mobile data traffic, increasing deployment of IoT devices and the expanding use of proptech.?
Mobilitie wireless infrastructure includes communication towers, indoor and outdoor neutral host DAS networks, small cells, IoT, and Wi-Fi networks.
