U.S. wireless infrastructure provider Mobilitie has partnered with Marriott Tacoma Downtown, a new luxury hotel in the city of Tacoma, Washington, to bring 5G wireless capabilities to the property.
The Marriott Tacoma Downtown is located in the heart of Tacoma, directly connected to the Greater Tacoma Convention Center and within walking distance to local dining, entertainment and the city’s Museum District. The hotel opened its doors in November of 2020.
Under this project, Mobilitie has installed more than 130 DAS antennas and 190 Wi-Fi APs in both the Convention and Trade Center as well as in the nearby 23,000-seat Tacoma Dome, and plans to install the same infrastructure in the newly connected hotel to allow guests to experience a seamless connection and prepare the property for 5G rollout.
?Building a reliable wireless connection is a big part of the amenities we wish to provide and we?re excited for guests to enjoy high-speed connectivity in our new luxurious hotel,? said Ben Osgood of Marriott Tacoma Downtown. ?Mobilitie?s work will help ensure our guests have access to a quality 5G connection during important business meetings, trade shows and even relaxing leisure time.?
?It?s been a pleasure building a relationship with the Marriott Tacoma Downtown team as we prepare to provide one of its newest properties with a reliable and trusted network,? said Rebecca Onaitis, national director of wireless solutions for Mobilitie. ?We?re looking forward to expanding our footprint in the great city of Tacoma as we seek to help keep all of Pacific Northwest locals and visitors connected.?
Last week, Mobilitie also announced it has partnered with Lodge at Blue Sky, a resort operated by Auberge Resorts LLC, to bring 5G wireless capabilities to the remote getaway. Guests will now have access to the wireless network on the property.
Situated in the Wasatch Mountain Range on a 3,500-acre ranch, Blue Sky is just 20 minutes outside of Park City, Utah.
Mobilitie has installed more than 40 antennas throughout the 128,000+ square foot property, and coverage will extend throughout the Sky Lodge, Edge Spa, Earth Suites and Creek Houses.
Mobilitie said that two major wireless carriers already providing services through this new wireless infrastructure.
In a recent interview with In-Building Tech, Jason Caliento, EVP of network strategy at Mobilitie, said that the firm was seeing significant year-over-year growth in its in-building networks for venue owners.? ?As tenants return to commercial real estate, as guests return to hotels, and as smaller venues look to attract visitors, building, hotel, and venue owners are seeing that they need to have outstanding in-building coverage and capacity to attract and retain their tenants, guests, and fans,? he said.
?We?re seeing a mix of commercial real estate, hotels, and even smaller venues looking to stay competitive take us up on these offers, and candidly, we?re seeing some that will fall behind because they aren?t,? Caliento added.
