Spain-based IoT provider Libelium has launched a new cloud platform, Libelium Cloud, to manage multi-vendor IoT environments. The firm said the launch “completes” its reinvention as an “end-to-end” IoT solutions provider, covering hardware, software, and connectivity. The firm has traditionally specialised in IoT sensors and gateways for various industrial IoT applications until now.
The new Libelium Cloud product enables users to manage devices, connectivity, and data across multiple IoT projects on a single cloud-based platform, the company said. It works with LTE, including LTE-based NB-IoT and LTE-M, as well as non-cellular low-power wide-area (LPWA) IoT standards LoRaWAN and Sigfox, plus Wi-Fi. It is being offered with a smart parking application suite at launch, with “more to come”.
It can be connected to AWS or Azure, and share data with third-party devices through MQTT and HTTPS. The platform is available as a subscription service, with the option of technical support for setup and usage – including around “consumption of the data being fed into the platform”. Users can view and analyse real-time and historical data from their connected devices, as well as configure and manage their sensors from the same device.
It stated: “The ability for users to gain insight into multiple projects from a single remote cloud platform unlocks a holistic overview across IoT projects from beginning to end. From connecting agricultural and meteorological data to enable smart decisions on food production through to providing a single hub for smart city data and automation, the cloud provides the ability to store, visualize and analyse all data received from one location.”
Alicia Asín, chief executive and founder at Libelium, said: “For the world to reach the next stage of IoT, where we bring solutions together to create a connected ecosystem, we need to empower users to manage, view and programme their assets from a single location. We are proud to launch Libelium Cloud to bring our solutions together into a complete IoT package which is easy to deploy, easy to manage, and makes life easier for solution users.”
