Wireless Logic buys Blue Wireless – its ninth IoT acquisition in two years

UK-based Wireless Logic will have a stronger presence in Asia and the US, and a major global FWA play, it claims.

Wireless Logic has struck again; following a rush of acquisitions in 2022, the UK IoT firm has also picked up Singapore-based Blue Wireless for an undisclosed fee. The deal strengthens its presence in Asia Pacific and the United States, and expands its portfolio offering to include fixed wireless access (FWA) services, it said.

Last year, Wireless Logic acquired industrial IoT platform enabler IoThink Solutions, IoT MVNO Mobius Networks, and IoT data SIM provider Jola. It has acquired nine companies in two years, notably including IoT MVNO Arkessa in late 2020. The firm claims more than 10 million IoT subscriptions in 165 countries, and direct partnerships with 50 mobile network operators.

Blue Wireless was founded in late 2015 to deliver wide-area IoT cellular solutions to enterprises, mostly in the energy, retail, logistics, and maritime sectors. Wireless Logic rates it also as the “first provider of fixed wireless access services on a global scale”. It has 70 staff in six offices in Asia Pacific, Europe and the US.

The firm offers fixed-price LTE/5G connectivity in 80-odd countries, underpinned by speed guarantees and service SLAs – “making it an ideal underlay alternative for global SD-WAN deployments”, the company said. It called it a “major milestone” for its own development.

Ivan Landen, chief executive at Blue Wireless, commented: “With the support of Wireless Logic, we will be able to accelerate our innovation and connectivity roadmap to benefit our customers and teams around the world, supporting new use cases while maintaining our hands-on service culture.”

Oliver Tucker, chief executive at Wireless Logic, said “We continue to strengthen our global footprint and routes to market through the global service provider channel. We welcome the talented Blue Wireless team and look forward to setting new standards in the connectivity marketplace.”
