ProSentry taps Senet to offer LoRaWAN building-monitoring system

US building monitoring company ProSentry is taking a LoRaWAN IoT system from IoT service provider Senet in order to deploy and manage private LoRaWAN networks to support IoT monitoring in residential and commercial buildings. ProSentry’s new LoRaWAN-based IoT monitoring proposition includes water and gas leak detection, plus mechanical and environmental monitoring, and a number of incoming IoT applications.

It is geared for single-property monitoring, or as a solution for multi-site and multi-tenant real-estate projects. Senet’s LoRaWAN platform, offered on subscription, covers networks, gateways, and sensors, as well as a cloud interface to manage them all. The ProSentry proposition, drawing on a stable of Senet-approved third-party LoRaWAN devices, promises “real-time operational insights and instant alerts” about building conditions and services.

A statement suggested it is working to add IoT monitoring applications for  boiler temperature, exhaust fans, temperature / humidity, elevator motion, roof and terrace drain, sump pit water levels, trash container levels, water tank levels, mouse traps, door/window openings, water shutoff valves, and smoking, vaping, and cannabis detection. Its platform aims to reduce insurance premiums and repair costs, and provide proactive risk mitigation.

John Rusk, president and founder at ProSentry, said: “Low-cost LoRaWAN gateways can deliver connectivity for an entire building and provide the foundation for a holistic building monitoring solution. Reliable network connectivity is critical to the delivery of our services and Senet’s platform and RAN tools ensure we are able to deploy, manage, and monitor network infrastructure and sensor deployments, bringing innovation and ease to better building monitoring.”

Bruce Chatterley, chief executive at Senet, said: “LoRaWAN networks and sensors are revolutionizing the way building owners can serve their occupants and stakeholders. With numerous sensors supported and integration with Senet’s cloud managed network platform, ProSentry is able to support virtually any smart building use case making full-scale building, multi-dwelling unit, and campus deployments more accessible than ever before.”
