TrueBusiness, Intel use AI to transform Thai public health

The Intel collaboration will integrate AI with medical diagnostics to enhance efficiency and reduce the workload of healthcare professionals

TrueBusiness, a unit of Thai carrier True Corporation and Intel have partnered to modernize Thailand’s healthcare industry by leveraging True’s 5G network and Intel’s artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

In a release, the Thai carrier noted that this strategic collaboration will introduce seven smart healthcare solutions to enhance diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and patient data management in Thai hospitals, transforming the nation’s healthcare into a fully digital ecosystem.

“TrueBusiness is accelerating the development of innovative services while integrating AI to enhance organizational capabilities. By partnering with Intel, TrueBusiness aims to create tangible and practical solutions to support Thai businesses in their digital transformation,” commented Pichit Thanyodom, chief business officer at True Corporation.

True noted that key technologies driving this digital transformation initiative include Intel’s AI tools like OpenVino, which supports edge AI for faster diagnosis and treatment. Patient-Management-as-a-Service, powered by Intel Edge AI, enables continuous and secure patient monitoring, extending medical providers’ reach through advanced analytics. Meanwhile, True’s 5G network enables real-time data transmission, allowing for quicker and more accurate patient care, especially for complex medical cases.

The Asian telco highlighted that this collaboration with Intel will integrate AI with medical diagnostics to enhance efficiency and reduce the workload of healthcare professionals. For instance, the AI-powered system will help with the in-depth analysis of treatment data, aiding medical specialists in diagnosing and treating patients more quickly and accurately. Automated systems also help reduce equipment costs and enhance medical processes, True added.

Under the collaboration, TrueBusiness will offer the following smart solutions for healthcare:

  • Telemedicine and Tele ICU: By utilizing True’s 5G network, this service allows remote patient care. Data from medical equipment across various locations is sent to a central system, enabling doctors to consult and treat patients in real-time without the need for hospital visits.
  • Future of Large Language Model (LLM): This platform allows patients to input symptoms and personal information, which the AI analyzes using the latest medical data. It provides insights into possible health conditions and treatment options, speeding up the process of receiving care and reducing the time spent in hospitals.
  • Pathology as a service: AI streamlines tissue and blood sample analysis, helping pathologists diagnose diseases like cancer in minutes instead of weeks. This speeds up early disease detection and reduces diagnostic costs.
  • Ophthalmology as a service: AI-powered systems offer quick eye condition screenings, such as for diabetic retinopathy, without the need for invasive procedures.

The partnership will also enable the provision of smart solutions for rehabilitation including Digital Patient Twin and a residential care management platform.

TrueBusiness also will offer smart solutions for medical data management, including a solution offering AI-enhanced storage and sharing of medical images, which make it possible to access diagnostic tools from remote locations, reducing infrastructure complexity and improving medical services in underserved areas.
