Celona targets Chinese 5G private market via partnership

Celona has signed a partnership with Xingtera, a specialist in the industrial IoT space

U.S. private networks specialist Celona has extended its 5G LAN solution to the Chinese market through a strategic collaboration with Xingtera, an industrial IoT solutions provider, the former said in a release.

This partnership is further strengthened by Oriental Cable Network (OCN), which offers spectrum support as China Broadcasting Network’s Shanghai branch, and Inspur, a major global IT infrastructure provider delivering the necessary core/edge server technology, said Celona.

Celona noted its 5G LAN solution offers industries a new option for secure wireless connectivity, specifically tailored to enterprises operating across sectors like manufacturing, logistics, construction, oil and gas and mining.

“By working with the right strategic partners to create this new option for private 5G deployments in China, we have captured the final frontier, offering global enterprises a powerful new tool to drive innovation and secure their digital transformation in one of the world’s most dynamic markets,” said Rajeev Shah,  co-founder and CEO at Celona.

Xingtera’s CEO Yuqing Niu, said: “Celona’s private 5G network offering allows us to deliver innovative and scalable IIoT solutions, enabling us to elevate our use cases and drive efficiencies across industries.”

OCN is also enthusiastic about the collaboration. Yu Jie, vice general Manager of OCN, remarked: “Our collaboration with Celona and Xingtera opens new opportunities for enterprises to harness the power of private 5G, driving previously unimaginable innovation.”

With the global private 5G market projected to reach $14 billion by 2028, this partnership positions Celona to capitalize on the growing demand for secure, high-performance 5G networks across industries worldwide, the company said.

In July, Germany-based managed system integrator Xantaro Group has been selected by Celona to sell its private 5G system into European enterprises.

The Germany company flagged the viability of the Celona system for a range of industrial applications, including process automation, intelligent production lines, secure device connectivity, automated guided vehicles, and IoT devices.

Xantaro Group works with mobile operators and other service providers, as well as enterprises. It claims more than 300 customers, and offers the full design-build-run services wrap for enterprise networking systems, covering planning, design, build, implementation, operation and maintenance of components and services of completely different network layers and manufacturers: –“from optical transport systems to IP/MPLS service platforms”.

In May, Celona announced a deal with STC (Saudi Telecommunication Company) Group in the Middle East on private 5G. The operator will use Celona’s 5G system to stand-up its digital-change sales in the mining, manufacturing, and logistics sectors. The pair had a “full-scale” automated guided vehicle (AGV) system running on 5G in a mocked-up warehouse at LEAP 2024 in Riyadh in March.

The Saudi firm will use the Celona system to go with its cloud services, IoT solutions, and cybersecurity proposition for enterprise customers in the region. Celona called it a “milestone” agreement that will combine the two companies’ respective enterprise solutions for private 5G connectivity and digital-change solutions.
