PARIS-Alcatel Alsthom announced it will double its existing GSM mobile network in Kosovo, having been chosen by Vala900, a division of Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo.
Alcatel said its solution has the potential to increase Vala900 subscribers to 700,000, more than 30 percent of the Kosovo population. The company said it will provide its Evolium solution for a GSM/GPRS radio access network, a circuit core extension, a new packet core solution and value-added services.
